Yesterday we prayed God's blessing over Lydia Goldstone as we sent her out to formally commence formation for ordained ministry. A powerful morning... the praise the Lord for guiding and gifting Lydia with much to share the wider Church. Thanks to Bec, Deacon in the Church, for preaching and serving the Lord's table.

"Sing to the Lord all the earth!" (Psalm 96). Thanks to this wonderful group of people for helping mulch the church garden... we smashed through all 10 cubic metres which we had and we still need to order more to finish the job! Come check out the memorial Rose garden soon, it is magnificent.

Today we installed our long awaited Little Library! The children have worked very hard decorating the library, built by the local Men's Shed, and provided to us by the City of Canning. Many thanks to @city_of_canning @mensshedswa, Nathan Hoyle for the paint and Robin Grieff for the installation. On Christmas we blessed this beautiful new stained glass window of Mary, Mother of Our Lord. @bisschops_glass has created a truly stunning piece which completes the votive candle sculpture prayerful space. People can light a candle in memory of loved ones with the reminder that Jesus is the Resurrection and the Life, and a candle inspired by Mary's faithfulness which is about a prayerful disposition in life, whatever comes. Thanks so much to Lia for sponsoring this project.

Hazel and Douglas Samuels have been in the parish since 1964... they were confirmed here as youths, married as young adults and have commended loved ones to God's mercy. Wonderful faithful people! Our thanks to them for sponsoring the creation of this epic entryway featurepiece making use of the striking Gowers & Brown window made in 1960. Thanks to @perthartglass for turning it into this custom jarrah light box.

Thanks to a generous donor, this window has been partially remade and repositioned. The top panel is the original by Tradition Stained Glass Perth, and the two bottom panels are newly made by Bisschopps Glass to be in harmony with the style of other windows in the church. It's new home is above the Memorial Cabinet, next to the votive candle sculpture. A perfect place for this window as people remember their loved ones who have died in the faith of Christ.

What a morning yesterday... Here's some before, during, and after photos of establishing the garden down the West driveway. 60 plants went in - 30 eremophila silver flame, 15 red kangaroo paw and 15 yellow paws. Thanks to the team for such a big effort. Glory to God in the highest!

On Sunday we were delighted to bless this new Votive Candle Sculpture made by Wayne Jefferies of Jalmer Iron. 33 candles in total representing the traditional number of years Jesus lived, with a cluster of 3 near the top as a nod to the Holy Trinity. All of the steel Wayne used is recycled or otherwise discarded steel that was repurposed for this sculpture. It is positioned next to the Memorial Cabinet which contains the names of people whose ashes are interred in the parish rose memorial garden. Photos don't do this artwork justice, it is beautiful. Thank you to the parishioner who sponsored this.

We prayer on Sunday:

Gracious God,
Bless and sanctify, we pray, this votive candle sculpture
And by the sign of the cross make it a channel of your presence.
May the candles lit here light up this temple to your glory,
And be a sign of the prayers of your people
And dispel any darkness in our souls
That we may walk in your peace and be sustained by your Holy Spirit
We make this prayer through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
